Logic-puzzle solvers and editors

Step-by-step solvers, editors and generators — for the next move, not a pasted solution.

Can a tool show the next move without spoiling the whole grid?

Yes — that is what Solvers & tools (14 sites) is for. Ask for the next logical step (SudokuWiki, HoDoKu, step helpers) instead of a one-click fill. Pasting a full solution teaches little; a step that explains why a cell must be 7 does.

A solver is not a cheat button

Asking why the next step holds is different from pasting the answer. SudokuWiki is a strategy book. HoDoKu and Sudoku Explainer are for ratings and drill. SudokuSolver.net is faster if you only want the fill — you will not learn much.

Variants and Japanese types

Variants: f-puzzles and SudokuPad. Japanese editing: Penpa+. Connectivity at scale: Noqx. Check that your rule set is supported before you paste a grid.
