Battleships — rules and where to play
BATTLESHIPS · Battleship Solitaire / Bimaru / Yubotu / Battleship Puzzle

Rules
- A fleet of different-length ships sits horizontally or vertically.
- Ships never touch, diagonals included.
- Numbers at the row ends and column bottoms count occupied cells.
- Puzzle editions reveal some cells as water, hull or ship end.
How to start
Clear the zero lines first
A zero row or column is all water and empties a big area at once.
Keep the fleet inventory in mind
The lengths left to place must match the free space.
Fragment clues are the key
A marked ship end fixes that ship's orientation.
Where players get stuck
- Letting two ships touch diagonally — most versions forbid it.
- Running a ship off the edge of the grid.
