Rules

  1. Each tree gets exactly one tent, placed in one of its four orthogonal neighbours.
  2. Tents never touch in any of the eight directions.
  3. Numbers at the row ends and column bottoms count the tents in that line.

How to start

Handle isolated trees first

A tree with only one free neighbour fixes its tent and clears all eight cells around it.

"Beside" means orthogonally, not same row or column

A tent may sit above, below, left or right of its tree.

Use the line totals

Once a row's tent count is met, everything else in it is out.

Where players get stuck

  • Reading "beside" as same row or column.
  • Forgetting tents cannot touch diagonally.
