Hitori — rules and where to play
HITORI · Hitori ni shite kure / Lonely / Leave Me Alone

Rules
- In each row and column, unblackened digits may not repeat.
- Blackened cells may not touch edge to edge.
- All unblackened cells must form one connected region.
How to start
Three in a row forces one black
With three identical digits in a line, the middle one must go.
Pairs are either-or
Two identical neighbours means exactly one of them is blackened.
Close on connectivity
Late on, almost every call rests on "the whites must stay joined".
Where players get stuck
- Treating a blackened cell as removed from the grid — it stays put, it just stops counting as a duplicate.
- Ignoring white connectivity and stranding an island.
