Rules
- A set of seven: five triangles, one square, one parallelogram, fixed total area.
- All pieces tile the target outline without overlap.
- Pieces may rotate and flip but not overlap or float.
How to start
Lay the big pieces as the skeleton
The two large triangles often are half the shape; place them first.
Match hypotenuse to hypotenuse
Tangram leans on 45° edges meeting; find neighbours along them.
Use area as a backstop
The target area must equal the seven pieces; rule out mismatches early.
Where players get stuck
- Gripping one piece's spot and refusing to rebuild.
- Forgetting the parallelogram flips, missing half the solutions.
