Galaxies — rules and where to play
GALAXIES · Spiral Galaxies / Tentai Show / Symmetric Polygons
Every dot is the center of a galaxy, and each region must be 180° rotationally symmetric about it. The finished grid genuinely looks like a spiral.

Rules
- Every region is a two-cell rotationally symmetric "galaxy" around a center dot.
- Shade or border so each center owns a 180°-symmetric polyomino; centers do not share cells.
- The finished grid partitions the board into those galaxies.
- Clue dots mark centers; empty space must still be claimed by exactly one galaxy.
How to start
Grow from each center
Force the smallest ring around a center first; symmetry fills the opposite cell.
Block collisions early
When two centers would claim the same cell, one growth path dies.
Watch the border
Edge and corner cells have fewer partners for 180° symmetry.
Count leftover cells
Odd pockets with no center are often the contradiction that finishes a chain.
Where players get stuck
- Building asymmetric blobs and "fixing" them later.
- Forgetting that every cell, including far corners, must belong to some galaxy.
- Assuming adjacent centers cannot touch — they can, on a shared boundary.
